Learn Spanish and have a GREAT time doing it in beautiful Antigua, Guatemala! At the Academia de Español Guatemala all of our teaching is one-on-one in a splendid garden setting with a swimming pool. Our fabulous teachers, our focus on after-school activities, and our warm, family-like atmosphere make us a school like no other. We offer home stays with a select group of local Guatemalan families, and our focus on quality ensures our students an experience to be cherished FOREVER!
The Academia de Español Guatemala's College Accredited program, which is endorsed by both the Ministerio de Educación de Guatemala and the Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo, offers Total Immersion Study. Even those who have had no prior Spanish exposure will be completing basic Spanish phrases after the first day! Classes are held Monday through Friday from 8:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00. 
Students and teachers work one-on-one, which allows each student to work at his/her individual level. We place particular emphasis on flexibility: students pick the areas they wish to emphasize - conversation, comprehension, writing, etc. The school offers a relaxed tranquil environment. Some students enjoy working in the park or strolling through town with their professors. A few have even been known to study over a beer in a local cantina!

The student's schedule is entirely up to the student - our teachers are here for you. All of our teachers have a minimum of 10 years experience in teaching Spanish as a second language, and unlike other schools, we provide them with yearly contracts which enables us to maintain our superb teaching staff. Gustavo, our general manager, Victor Manuel our assistant manager and accountant, Luisa, the English-speaking student coordinator and Armando, the housing and activities coordinator each take a personal interest in each student. Between them they can arrange anything from root canals to beach vacations. The entire staff works together to make our school the best it can be. 
We provide you with all the facilities you need to feel comfortable while studying with us. We can arrange you most everything at your arrival to Guatemala from picking you up from the airport to find you a family to live with, working as a volunteer and making touristic trips around the country. With The Family Stay Program you can live with a local family, it includes meals everyday except for Sundays for a cost of US$75.00 per week, we arrange it, but you pay directly to the family. Students of AEG have full use of the school's telephone, free internet, fax, copier, mail and check-cashing services as well as our Cable TV to catch up on important news or not-to-be missed sporting events. The school has its own small bar & restaurant where students can enjoy their favorite drink and have a good meal. Other programmed activities are free of charge (sport, videos, parties, etc.) Also, the school can book tours with travel agencies to all tourist destination in Guatemala, at no extra charge. If you are interested in working as a volunteer and help the Guatemalan people contact us and we arrange this for you. The school is in contact with many different kind of organisations and proyects (education, health, constructions, hospitals etc.)

While you stay in La Antigua Guatemala and learn spanish, the school also has contacts with local non-profit NGO´s that require temporary volunteers, wich would be a great oportunity to experience the local culture, practice spanish and at the same time provide a mutch needed helping hand.
The School offer a wide variety of daily activities free of charge. These include volleyball, soccer, basquet ball, ping-pong, movie nights, happy hours, bike trips, cultural excursions in our school van, "round table" discussions, Latin dance classes, and, of course, many fiestas! Students also have free use of our cable TV. swimming pool and coffee, tea and purified water are available throughout the day. For a minimum fee, optional weekend excursions enable students to further explore this magical area and we can also arrange for students to participate in a wide variety of local volunteer projects.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CLASSES IN A GROUP In the case there are not enough students (minimum 2) to form a group you will receive 3 hours of individual classes a day for the same price $200.00 for 2 persons studying 4 hours each If you are going to study 4 hours and you bring or find somebody who wants to study 4 hours in the afternoon you pay $100.00 per person per week.
