Actualmente esta bajo la dirección de los franciscanos y se ha estado restaurando después de la destrucción y abandono desde 1983 con donaciones particulares debido a los terremotos de 1976.La iglesia esta al servicio de los fieles y cuenta con varias imágenes coloniales que resaltan su belleza.
English In 1663, the Dominican friars opened it, but when the hospital was transferred to the new city, the building was left being still in good conditions, so it continued working temporarily. During the XIX century it started being managed by the Capuchin nuns, who made some improvements to the building. In 1869, the Charity Sisters of San Vicente de Paul took charge of the building, at the time that the general hospital was functioning there. This temple is today being used as a center of social work, shelter for old people, treatment center for undernourished children, handicaps, blind or mentally diseased people, etc. Now days it is known as the Hermano Pedro's Hospital. Now, it is being managed by the Franciscan friars and has being permanently restored since its destruction, with the support of personal donations, after the 1976 earthquake. |

Fue inaugurado en 1663 por los frailes dominicos pero debido al traslado del hospital a la ciudad capital el edificio siguió en buenas condiciones y funcionando temporalmente. En el siglo XIX fue dado a las monjas capuchinas quienes hicieron algunas mejoras. No fue hasta 1869 que las Hermanas de la Caridad de San Vicente de Paúl se hicieron cargo del edificio funcionando allí el hospital general. Este templo actualmente es utilizado para obras sociales que albergan pacientes ancianos, niños desnutridos, inválidos, ciegos o personas con disturbios mentales y es conocido como el Hospital del Hermano Pedro.
